It is with great sadness that we report the death of John Russell Prince on September 12th 2021.

John was a long standing member of the Guilderton Community Association and was President for several years.

He wrote the history of the GCA, ‘Secret No Longer’ which we released in 2012. There are a few copies left at the Guilderton Visitor Centre.

John and his late wife Moyra, bought their home in Guilderton in 1962 and spent a lot of happy time there. Their 4 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren continue to enjoy visiting the original family home on Silver Creek Road.

John was always a champion for the environment and also led Friends of Moore River Estuary over many years, through a myriad of battles and negotiations.

John celebrated his 98th birthday in July but was becoming more frail and moved into care soon after. He was well cared for at Bethanie and died peacefully in his sleep.

Condolences to all his family and friends. His wit, tenacity and intelligent actions will be greatly missed, as we celebrate a life well lived.

Rest in Peace John.
