Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia day was held on a beautiful sunny day in Guilderton on 6th March 2022.
We had 68 volunteers register for the townsite, divided into a team on the road into town, a team in boats up the estuary, Gingin cubs, joeys and parents along the Silver Creek tracks, and many other locals and visitors who came to the Visitor Centre to clean the foreshore, coast, parks and town roads.
We registered 42 adults and 26 under 16’s; 36 males, 32 females and 3 other (dogs) and heartily thank them all. Phil and Anne cooked us a thank you sausage sizzle courtesy of the Country Club where we finished off with drinks, watermelon and chocolates before the youngsters were ready for a swim.
Thank you to Gingin Scout group and all the locals and visitors who pitched in. We filled a skip bin and a half with rubbish and gave several bags of 10cent containers to the GCA collection.
It is a busy long weekend in our lovely coastal town so it is good to see it now cleaner and safer for all. Thanks!
